How to Worship God Right

What is the correct way to worship God? Through music? Through prayer? Through works?

I've seen many churches as I've traveled with all the people from Forgiveness: The RPG Series. When we go to a new city, we always make sure to go to church. Some worship services are slow, some are fast, and there are some churches that don't have worship at all.

As a new Christian, this was very disorienting. I didn't know which way of worship was the right way.

But then I remembered what Jesus said in John Chapter 4 Verses 23 and 24, which was that we need to worship God in spirit and in truth. So when I started to come to church with a spirit of thankfulness, the "right worship" came out.

Remember that God is listening to the words that we speak. If I remember that and sing to God, I always "worship right." When I pray, if I remember God is really hearing me, I will always "pray right." If I remember that God sees the works that I do, I will always "work right."

Remember to worship God in spirit and in truth!

Keep Going Deeper in Studying the Bible!

Last April, I talked about reading the Bible for yourself. I talked about the benefits of it and why we should do it. You can read the blog post here.

Now a year later, I want to reaffirm you to continue to read the Bible for yourself!

Yes, we need to go to church and hear our pastor speak and teach about the God. Yes, if appropriate, we need to meet in small groups during the week to discuss God's word and how God is working in our lives.

But it's amazing to learn more about God on your own. Personal prayer and Bible study can really help you not only learn more about God, but it can help to confirm your faith for yourself. As you do this, you can become more confident in the things you believe!

Let's keep going deeper! It pleases God, and it can help you!

Practice!

I really like to snowboard! But I didn't get good overnight. When I first started, I kept falling off again and again.

But I kept remembering why I wanted to snowboard. I wanted to snowboard because (1) It was really fun and (2) I knew it was a great way to share my faith with others.

Sometimes sports columnists for newspapers ask how I can be so calm and focused, and how I can keep a good attitude when I win or loose a race. It's because before every race, I pray and ask God to help me do my best and have fun. And to be safe!

Remember why you are doing something and keep practicing!

It's Easter Weekend!

This weekend we celebrate Easter. Easter is the time when we celebrate the fact that Jesus Christ rose from the dead after being crucified. (Luke Chapter 24 Verse 7)

Why is this important to celebrate? It's because Jesus Christ was God's son, and God sent his son into the world to teach us how to live right and seek after God. (John Chapter 3 Verses 16 to 21)

God allowed him to be crucified to show the world how much He loved the world. Jesus died on the cross to give us a path for forgiveness of our sins. (Galatians Chapter 1 Verses 3 to 5)

Then God raised Jesus from the dead to show that after we die, if we trust in Jesus to forgve our sins, God will raise us up too and allow us to live in Heaven forever. (Acts Chapter 26 Verses 22 to 23) (Romans Chapter 10 Verses 9 to 13) (Romans Chapter 8 Verses 1 to 2)

That is Easter. That is why we celebrate!

Liking or Loving?

I have a habit of using the word "love" too freely. If we really look at 1st Corinthians Chapter 13 (specifically verses 4 through 7 of chapter 13), true love is no joke!

Even through it's a habit to say "I LOVE Tuesdays," I need to try and break it. Why? Because I don't view Tuesdays as something too important, it should be: "I LIKE Tuesdays."

I like Tuesdays!
I like recess at school!
I like chocolate ice cream!

I love God!
