It's Easter Time!

Easter 2013 is coming up, and I think this is a good time to remember what it all means.

1 John Chapter 4 Verses 10-12 in the Bible really sums up the meaning of Easter.

At Easter, we remember that God sent his son Jesus Christ to the Earth and that He died and rose again. This scripture really explains the meaning of that:

The verses show that we as people didn't love God first, but that He loved US first. Because of this, He sent His son Jesus Christ into the world to be the sacrifice for our sins. It was to make us right before God. All we need to do believe and accept Jesus Christ as the Son of God and the ONLY sacrifice for our sins. (See 1 John Chapter 5 Verse 5)

But let's not forget the second part! Because God loved us, as Christians we need to love other people. (See 1 John Chapter 4 Verse 12 and 1 John Chapter 4 Verses 19-21)

So the way I see it, Easter shows us how God loves us and wants to forgive our sin. Then, after we accept His son Jesus Christ into our hearts, we need to love our neighbors. Loving our neighbors shows that God is truly working in us!

Sounds like Easter to me! Have a Happy Easter!

Keep Going Deeper in Studying the Bible! (Part 2)

Last June, ZJ the Ball talked about making sure to read the Bible for yourself. You can see the post right here!

As I was reading recently, I found a great Bible verse! It's Galatians Chapter 6 Verses 4 to 5. I believe the Apostle Paul is talking about personal accountability here.

I learned from those verses that we need to look closer at ourselves and our own actions. If we can be confident that we are doing the right thing (and the only way we'll know what's right is through reading the Word of God), we can be happy, and not have to compare ourselves with other people.

See? There's another great reason to read the Bible for yourself! Keep asking God for guidance, and continue growing!

See you next time!

Happy Thanksgiving 2012!

There are so many things to be thankful for this year! What are you thankful for?

1st Thessalonians Chapter 5 Verses 16 to 18 really shows us the attitude we need to have at Thanksgiving and for the entire year: Let's always be joyful, pray always, and be thankful for everything! That's what God wants us to do!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Stuff comes and stuff goes

Stuff comes and stuff goes.
Because of this, we always need to rely on God.
Let me explain.

I had a stuffed animal my dad gave me. I took it everywhere! One day, when I was looking at the sunset, my parents called me into the house for dinner. I couldn't wait to eat dinner, so I ran into the house. But I didn't realize that I accidentally left my stuffed animal in the yard!

When I was about to go to sleep, I realized I didn't have it. So I ran outside to look for it, but it wasn't there.

I never found out where it went. Even to this day.

I was really sad when I went into the house. I ran crying to my parents, and told them what happened, so they went to help me look for it. We never found it.

But on that day, my dad told me something that always stayed in the back of my mind: "You'll loose things, but God will never be lost! God gives us things, and we can enjoy them. But when the time comes, and the stuff is gone, remember God will always be there. Thank Him for the time with the stuff, and then move on, knowing that God is with you!" (My dad based this from Ecclesiastes Chapter 5 Verse 19)

I got the main part: God is with me no matter what.

But it took a while to grasp the second part. My dad said WHEN I loose things. Does that mean anything I get, I will loose?

The more I thought about it, the more it became clear to me that dad was right. Every possession we get will someday be lost. Someone else might get it, it might be given away, or we might loose it, like my stuffed animal. Just like the Bible says in Ecclesiastes Chapter 5 Verse 15, we didn't come into the earth with anything, and we won't leave with any of this stuff.

The only thing that will be left is God. What was our relationship with God? Did we believe in his son, Jesus Christ? (Romans Chapter 14 Verses 9 to 12)

I'm happy that experience happened to me! I'm glad to share a story from my childhood with you! Hope you enjoyed it and found something new to think about! Bye!

Keep your Goals!

We're heading into the big holiday time of the year! That's right! Thanksgiving, then Christmas, then New Year 2013! That's a lot!

But in January 2012, I set some goals for myself. One of which was to exercise more! It was tough to keep the goal up, and sometimes I forgot to exercise. And some days I just didn't do it. But I kept remembering the goal, and instead of stopping because of one mistake, I came back the next day and had a great workout!

(Having Breakthrough Gaming Gym as part of my exercise routine helped keep the fun in my workouts!)

You might have made a goal for the year, and you might have stumbled along the way. However, we're just over halfway through the year and there's still time for you to finish your goal!

Make sure to ask God to help you, because He is always ready to help people that call on Him! (Romans Chapter 10 Verse 13)
