Proverbs 10:2

Hi there! In Breakthrough Gaming Match, you can match cards in over 15 different categories! One of those categories is Proverbs. So let's look at one of the Proverbs you get to match in the game: Proverbs 10:2!

It says, "Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death." This is a great verse because it reminds us that even through wickedness can bring treasures, righteousness is worth so much more!

So when you are faced with a decision, go for righteousness! Do what God would want you to do! Love others and love God! Do the right thing! You might not get all the treasures when you do the right thing, but you'll get something even better: the favor of God!

It's Summer 2013!

It's summer! Unfortunately, it will be a while before I can snowboard again in my hometown, but that's fine! It's going to be a summer full of fun!

My sister and I have some great activities planned this summer. We've got two trips planned, and then the rest of the summer will be relaxing around the house. Then it won't be too long before the next school year!

Do you have a big plan for this summer? If you don't, that's okay, but you should have an idea of what you want to do. There are so many good things to do during the summer. Whatever you do, make sure to pray and ask the Lord for guidance on what you should do, and then have fun doing it!

It's almost the 4th of July 2013!

The 4th of July is coming soon! One part of the 4th of July celebration in the United States of America is honoring the men and women who have served in the different military branches. Maybe you have someone in your family that served in the military!

If you do or if you don't, you need to get into the habit of honoring people everyday. It goes into what I blogged about in April. You need to make sure to honor your father and your mother everyday (like it says in the Bible in Exodus Chapter 20 Verse 12), honor the people who enforce the law everyday (like it says in the Bible in Romans Chapter 13 Verses 1 to 7), and honor the people around you everyday! (See 1 Timothy Chapter 5 verses 1 and 2 in the Bible)

Love Your Neighbor!

Last month, Clown talked about how Easter shows that God loves us and sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins. And since God did this for us, we can show the love of God by loving our neighbors.

I thought it would be fun to talk a little more about love for our neighbors. More specifically: How do I show love to my neighbors?

First, let's look at who our neighbors are. Neighbors are ANY people you interact with. Your family and friends are your neighbors. The kids in your class are neighbors. Your teachers are your neighbors. When you're in a store, the people you pass by as you shop are neighbors. The cashiers at the store you're at are your neighbors. When you walk down the street, the people you pass by are your neighbors. That's a lot of neighbors!

So how do you show love to them? The best thing to do is what Jesus said in Matthew Chapter 22 Verse 39 in the Bible, where He quoted from Leviticus Chapter 19 Verse 18 which says to love your neighbor as yourself.

So, when you see someone, how do you show love to them? Just switch your role: If you were them, how would YOU want to be treated? Make sure to treat them that way!
